thing 6 - mash-ups

oops!! I forgot to blog about Mash ups! I used mash ups to put my flickr photos on the Flickr's map. Also I checked out other people's map locations.

thing 23 - summarize your thoughts

I learned sooo much, and am really grateful this program was brought to BCPL. My personal favorite was the Avatar! I will get the most professional use out of the Wiki; I hope to use that soon.
However, I had to do all of my 23 things & the blog on my own time at home. We did not get the promised time off to do this, and the computers were always full with other staff persons using them for branch work.

thing 22 - project gutenberg

I have a mac, and can't download ebooks. So I checked out project gutenberg. I've used this before to offer students when we didn't have, it was 5 minutes to close, and they needed to read the book for class tomorrow. I found some great titles, and I'll definitely go back.

thing 21 - podcasts

I love the podcasts; really sweet! I've got the hookup for my favorite comedians.

thing 20 - YouTube

thing 19 - web 2.0 awards

Judy's Book (http://www.judysbook.com/) was my favorite; this brought me more than 200 pages of shopping discounts & deals near my zip code! Highly addictive!!!

thing 15 web/library 2.0

I understand that some of this is difficult to foretell. Some of this I did not agree with - like Mr. Anderson's "Just In Case" library. We have very good stats here at BCPL.
I love the idea of the library (or Dr. Schultz) serving brandy and scotch!

thing 14 technorati

This is sooo cool! I found hundreds of great blogs, and added 4 to my rss feeds already. There's a ton of blogs with great recipes.

NOT what I needed!

thing 11 library thing

I have already started my library thing. TIP - did you know that if you give a star, then click on it again, it becomes a half star, if you click on it a third time, that deletes the star completely.

avatar, thing 10

aren't I cool?

Thing 9; Merlin

Merlin's courses look interesting; tho I don't have much time to take one now. The Geocoaching looks really good, and so does the social networking stuff.

thing 8

I've got the FEEDS! This is so efficient...I've got all my news web sites on one site.
v.v. cool.

thing 7

Lately, I have used a few different tools that fall in this category.
First, was the work with Flickr tools.
Last week, I downloaded music and photos to my ipod.
My work with cropping and adjusting photos is much better now. I'm looking forward to downloading Desperate Housewives to my ipod next.

thing 2 life long learning

Habit 1: Begin with the end in mind.
Habit 2: Accept responsibility for your own learning.
Habit 3: View problems as challenges.
Habit 4: Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner.
Habit 5: Create your own learning toolbox.
Habit 6: Use technology to your advantage.
Habit 7: Teach/mentor others.
Habit 7 1/2: Play!

The hardest habit for me is the fourth; having confidence in myself when it comes to new technologies. I suppose that is the purpose of this though.

thing 1 setting up blog

Where's the chocolate? I was told I would be getting chocolate at this gig!
